The Village Planning and Zoning Boards, in collaboration with the Code Enforcement Officer, work to uphold Village Building codes by reviewing permit applications and building proposals.

In the Village of Scottsville, the “Code of the Village of Scottsville” requires permits for:

  • Any new building
  • Additions
  • Demolition
  • Renovation
  • Structural alteration
  • Conversion or Change of Use
  • Accessory & Storage Buildings
  • Signs
  • Sewer hook up
  • Park Use
  • Swimming Pools (above and in-ground)
  • Fireplace, chimney, wood stove, or fireplace conversions
  • Fences
  • Decks

The Village Planning Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M.

The Village Zoning Board meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month on an as-needed basis, beginning at 6:45 P.M. Meetings are held in the Wheatland Municipal Building, 22 Main Street, and are open to the public.
