The Scottsville Fire Department and Rescue Squad delivers Fire Protection, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Search and Rescue, Technical Rescue and Fire Prevention to the residents of the Village of Scottsville, the Wheatland Fire Protection District (primarily east of Wheatland Ctr. Rd) and the Chili Fire Protection District #4.  This is done with a 100% volunteer staff on a 24 hour a day basis, 7 days a week.

In calendar year 2006, the volunteers of the Scottsville Fire Department and Rescue Squad responded to over 450 calls for service.  Of these calls, nearly 150 were fire related requests, with 350 requests for ambulance service, which is provided by the Scottsville Fire Department Rescue Squad.  On top of emergency responses, SFD and EMS personnel logged near 3,000 hours of training for 2005.

The SFD and EMS are always looking for members of the community to join its staff of professional volunteers.  For information on joining, please check their website at www.scottsvillefd.org or call 585.889.1900.
